CommUnity night will bring back Farmer Bill Scheffler by popular demand for the third year in a row! Bill will enlighten our CommUnity gathering with his expansive knowledge of organic gardening. Bill Scheffler of Pure Prairie Farm has a degree in Horticulture from the University of Illinois, and is the third generation of his family in the plant business. Bill considers himself a soil nutritionist and is enthusiastic about teaching people how to cultivate beautiful, healthy gardens without the use of harmful chemicals, pesticides or herbicides. This month's program will provide further education on the detrimental use of glyphosate in the soil and its long-term effects on plants, animals, and human health. Glyphosate is a broad-spectrum systemic herbicide. The important aspect of Famer Bill's presentation will be how to counteract the effects of glyphosate applications and how to find solutions by growing healthy organic food in our home gardens. Included in the presentation will be valuable tips, specific techniques, and formula remedies to make our organic gardening experience both bountiful and beautiful. The Green Team CommUnity monthly programs are 7-9pm, the fourth Friday of each month, January through October. We show films and have guest speakers along with FREE admission and refreshments.
