On Wednesday May 16, 2015, We took to the streets with our bikes. Those ordinary and often neglected vehicles have now proved necessary in times of war when the people of Yemen were put under an illegal and inhuman siege that has restricted and limited our access to food, aid, water and fuel. The 'Yemeni Women Bike' campaign not only challenges the social strictures of our country but also opens the discussion about women’s life experiences during war and our challenges, helping us learn how to better provide support for each other. We cycle for freedom, for movement, for justice, and for our lives. Nothing will stop us from moving around, not bombs nor social taboos. Yemeni Women Bike in the Hague, is an event in support of a campaign initiated by Bushra Al-Fusail aimed at supporting Yemeni women to their right of movement and freedom from restrictive social norms. #bike4yemen #yemeniwomenbike Join us on Sunday May 31 at 3:00 PM. Starting point is at the Peace Palace to ride bikes in support of Yemeni women and in support of freedom of movement.
