August 2015 was the month that changed Alicia's life as she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Alicia was only 30 years old when she was nursing her 14 month old daughter and felt a lump in her breast. It did not take long to be diagnosed with Stage 4 triple negative invasive ductal cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes and her right lung. Alicia was fortunate to be accepted into a clinical trial at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Alicia and Pat (her mom) moved to Houston for 2 1/2 months to start Alicia's treatment. They came home in November and now travel to Houston every 3 weeks for treatment. Due to the severity of the cancer, Alicia will be treated for the rest of her life. Thankfully, Alicia and Kevin do have health insurance, but Alicia is no longer able to work and with the additional cost of traveling to Houston every 3 weeks is causing a financial burden on the family. Alicia and Kevin are blessed to have their daughter, Harper and she will be 2 years old in June. Please support Alicia and her family any way that you can.
