Join us on Friday July 1 from 6-9 PM at the Community Room on King for our July First Friday Show, Angela Faust Izzo- canvas sarcasm. Angela has this to say about her work, and her "inspiration"- "In 2011 I gave birth to my last child. After the birth, I became life threateningly ill and came close to losing my life. The jolting reminder of my mortality sent me into a tailspin of mental illness. I struggled with PTSD, depression and severe anxiety. After a complete meltdown, I was prescribed to an arsenal of medication to balance out my dangerously imbalanced brain chemicals, and sent to therapy for over a year. It was the lowest point of my life." But art became therapy for her, "Two years went by and finally the cloud lifted and I began to heal. I felt things again and I laughed. I hadn’t realized how much I missed laughing. My creativity that had been shut down during my battle with mental illness began to stir. Ideas flowed through my head and the desire to put them down on canvas was overwhelming. I needed to paint." So come experience laughter and joy through Angela's creative use of humor to engage in serious topics. Come engage with Angela, her art, grab some snacks, and invite others along with you.
