We all know the sound of this mastermind pianist and composer when we hear it. With a heavy bossa nova influence and groovy pop stylings, one can easily pick out the music that was written for the Charlie Brown cartoon specials. Join us for a special evening of jazzy nostalgia as the Donovan Johnson Band presents THE MUSIC OF VINCE GUARALDI AND THE PEANUTS with special guest Louis Colaiannia. Donovan Johnson is a Forest City native who has been a lifelong musician. His music can be heard on Pandora radio, Spotify, Amazon, ITunes, and through many other online and offline outlets. As a solo artist, and as the founder of the internationally recognized organization "Enlightened Piano Radio," Donovan has travelled and performed all over the country. His performances have even taken him further, to the Place Des Arts in Montreal CAN, and Oxford Street in London UK. Domestically has graced the stage in over half of the US states, including performances in New Orleans, Seattle, Nashville, and even Carnegie Hall! His band consists of Omaha heavyweights Michael DeLuca, drums; Steve Gomez, bass; Ed Archibald, sax; and Kent Barnes, percussion. Co-headlining the concert will be Louis Colaiannia, a Denver CO native and accomplished musician for over fifty years. Louis has placed well on the national jazz charts with albums such as "The Next Stage," and has been described as a master in the "chill" and "groove" sub-genres of the jazz world. Musically he brings an intense and powerful performance that's full of excitement! Once you've experienced it, you won't forget it. Both of these nationally recognized, award winning artists have also had their music place in a multitude of award nomination categories, even as far as pursuing nominations for the Grammy Awards.
