$5-$15 Suggested Donation (includes post show talk back led by Zornitsa Stoyanova and reception) Created as part of the Mom’s Make Art residency developed by mother/artist, Zornitsa Stoyanova, And At Last I See the Light uses movement, video projection, fairytales, and crochet to share the challenges of having a daughter with a severe physical disability. Although not a “trained” dancer, Lauren uses movement as therapy to explore her emotions. At just 22 weeks pregnant Lauren was admitted to the hospital with pregnancy complications. She remained in the hospital for seven weeks until her twin girls, Walker and Ellie, were born. The girls spent the next 2 1/2 months in the NICU. During this time cysts were discovered in Ellie’s brain, most likely caused by the fact that she was born so small and early. A year later, she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Lauren Mandilian Huot graduated from Drexel University in 2007 with a Bachelor/Master of Science in Digital Media. For her thesis she produced a collaborative modern dance performance, which integrated digital media and technology. Since then, she has worked with different artists in the Philadelphia and New York area as well as two Broadway musicals. In 2012 she was an Artist in Residence at thefidget space and collaborated with choreographer, David Konyk to create an integrated video and dance performance. "And At Last I See the Light" is Lauren’s first artistic work since giving birth to her twins in 2013.
