Foodies unite for the last chance to experience the Lunar Chinese New Year’s banquet hosted by Culinary Historian, Shirley Lum of A Taste of the World, while bidding adieu to the Year of the Horse and ushering in the Year of the Wooden Goat! Savour an authentic communal and sumptuous feast, as we celebrate the festival to end all festivals. Traditionally it’s restricted to immediate family members, hosted at home, and all 8 to 12 lavish symbolic dishes are cooked by the Matriarch. Join us as we embrace a growing trend, as increasing number of aging Chinese Matriarchs relinquish cooking the numerous courses to restaurant chefs, so they can finally enjoy it too! It will be a memorable and intimate evening filled with equal portions of food and facts, as Shirley sheds light on the old and new customs/traditions/ superstitions throughout the evening.
